Record a meeting

Live transcript

Dual-pane original and translation, speaker labels, previews versus finals, and renaming speakers.

The live meeting centre is a dual pane:

  • Live Input — speech in the language that was detected
  • Live Translation — the same turns in your target language (when translation is enabled)

Preview and final lines

Grey text is a preview. MeetSmara finalises at natural sentence or turn boundaries. When a line commits, it turns solid and the translation (if any) attaches to that line.

Do not treat the preview as a citable quote — Ask Smara live only reads finalised lines.

Speakers

Diarization labels people as Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and so on. To rename:

  1. Hover the name on a transcript row.
  2. Click the pencil.
  3. Type or pick a saved name. Enter commits the highlighted pick, or the typed text if nothing is highlighted.

Saved names live in Settings → Speakers. You can add a photo there (shown as an avatar on the transcript). Renaming a saved name does not rewrite labels in other meetings.

You can also manage names after the meeting from the Speakers chip in the header. A rename is yours — it is not undone if speaker labels later change on a turn.

Confidence

Low-confidence lines are flagged so you can double-check them in the post-meeting transcript.
