Getting started

Sign in and set up

Create an account, finish onboarding, pick your translation language, and acknowledge transcription consent.

MeetSmara has no guest mode. You sign in once; tokens are stored in the OS keychain, not in a local file you can copy around.

Sign in

  1. Open MeetSmara.
  2. Choose Google, Apple, GitHub, or email.
  3. Complete sign-in in your system browser.
  4. The browser returns you to the app automatically.

You must be online for the first sign-in.

Onboarding

The first launch walks through:

  1. Your name (required) — this is how you appear on transcripts.
  2. Job and company (optional).
  3. Translation language — the language of the live translation column, overlay, and AI notes. You can change it later in Settings → General.
  4. Microphone — pick the mic you will use. System audio uses the OS default output (Zoom/Teams/Meet playback).

A short product tour can start after onboarding. Skip it if you like; replay it any time from the Settings sidebar footer.

Before your first recording, MeetSmara asks you to confirm that you will tell participants the meeting is transcribed. The dialog cannot be dismissed by clicking outside it.

Review or revoke this later in Settings → Data & Privacy.
